This year, the Technical University of Košice (Slovakia) will host the 8th edition of the European Commission’s Week of Innovative Regions in Europe (WIRE) from 28th to 30th June 2017. This conference is supported by the Directorate-General Research & Innovation, Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation Programme and is related to the 2017 Slovak EU Presidency.

The focus of WIRE 2017 is built on challenges and societal impact of digitalisation and related R&I in synergy with the character of Kosice city itself, as the city has multicultural experiences as a historical crossroad, ICT and educational excellence, as City of piece’85, European City of Sport’16, European Capital of Culture’13 and in 2017 expected as UNESCO Creative city of media art’17.
